General Course Settings

The Environment Settings area (located in the middle column) contains tools for changing several settings for your course including course tab names, enrollment and access settings, and the course theme.
| Field Name | Description |
| Type | This read-only field specifies whether the section is formatted as a Course (Community) Group, or (Resource) Library. |
| Section ID | This read-only field displays the unique section ID for the course, group, or Resource Library. |
| Begins/Ends | Allow course editors to specify a beginning and/or ending date and time for the class. If specified, this information is viewable in the search results of a course/group search. Begins/Ends settings do not disable student access to the course. |
| Title | Allows course editors to change the title of the course. |
| Instructor ID | This read-only field displays the username of the instructor of record for the course. |
| Instructor Name | Allows course editors to change the name of the instructor of record for the course. |
| Keywords | Allows course editors to add or change a list of keywords for the course. If specified, course keywords are included as searchable fields (but not displayed) during a course/group search. |
| Stylesheet | Allows course editors to specify or change the path to a course stylesheet (theme). For more information on customizing course themes, refer to the section of this document titled Course Theme Selector. |
| Redirect URL | Allows course editors to redirect the course title hyperlink (on the user’s personal page) to a fully qualified URL (external website) instead of directing them to the default ANGEL course. |
| Redirect Target | Used only in combination with Redirect URL option, Redirect Target allows course editors to specify a custom window target value for the redirected title hyperlink (i.e. a value of _top replaces all frames within the browser window with the redirected website). |
| Description | Allows course editors to add or change the description for the course. If specified, this information is viewable in the search results of a course/group search. |
| Member Access | Determines whether all roster members can access the course or only course editors. When set to Editors Only, the course title does not show up on the personal page (My Page) of non-editor members. |
| Guest Access | Determines whether non roster members can access the course. Select Anonymous to allow non-authenticated users to access the course. Select Authenticated to allow only authenticated users (those who have logged into ANGEL) access to the course. Select None to disallow non-roster members from accessing the course. |
| Show on Search | Determines whether the course is searchable from the public course/group search utilities. Select No to hide the course from the public course/group search utility. |
| Miscellaneous Language | Allows course editors to select Default, English or Spanish. |
