Copy Course

Faculty > Copy Course

The Copy Course import utility allows course editors to import from any course or group for which they have editing rights. The Copy Course import process occurs on the server eliminating any need to download a course export for upload to the server.

To import a course or group:

  1. Log into ANGEL and click on the course from previous semester.
  2. Click Manage Tab
  3. Under Data Management, click Backup/Restore
  4. Click Backup Now, wait for the backup process to be completed and click OK.
  5. Go back to your Home page and click on the empty ANGEL course for the new semester.
  6. Click the Manage tab.
  7. Click the Import Wizard hyperlink.
  8. Click the Copy Course hyperlink. The Copy Course import utility will appear on the screen.
  9. Select the course or group you want to import from the list of available courses and groups listed in the Source Course/Group drop-down menu.
  10. Optionally deselect the ‘Migrate Quizzes to Assessments' checkbox if you do not want to change quizzes into assessments.
  11. Optionally deselect the ‘backup course before import' checkbox if you do not want to backup the existing course data and settings prior to completing the import.
  12. Optionally deselect the ‘replace all existing content' checkbox if you want to add the imported lesson content to your existing lesson content.
  13. Click the Import button.
    • Note: The import process may take a few seconds to several minutes depending on the size of the course or group. The Import Progress screen will appear.
  14. Wait until the import progress screen is no longer active (all clock icons have been replaced with checkmark icons) and then click OK.

By default, courses are disabled. Students will be denied access until you activate your course. Learn how to activate your course.
