Issues with Grading and the Gradebook
Users seeing a server error when grader remarks exceed 2500 characters
Users are reporting a server error when entering grader remarks that exceed 2,500 characters. There was an unknown issue in prior versions of ANGEL wherein no error message occurred, giving the appearance that 2,500 characters were accepted. In reality, characters in excess of 2,500 were sent in the message to students, but not stored in the gradebook. According to the vendor, feedback in the grader remarks field, by design, cannot exceed 2,500 characters.
Notes: While the server error is no longer an issue, remarks are, by design, limited to 2500 characters. If this is inadequate for your feedback needs, then you may send a detailed response document as an attachment with brief remarks in the remarks field to the student.
RESOLVED on August 8, 2009 with the application of hotfix supplied by ANGEL Learning.
Mail issues
Reading sent mail can result in server error
Some users are reporting seeing a server error when viewing their sent mail. This has been reported to the vendor and acknowledged as a bug. This issue stems from senders placing themselves on the “Cc:” line along with additional contacts. Multiple “Cc:” recipients in a message sent to instructors can also trigger this issue.
RESOLVED on August 28, 2009 with the application of the August patch from ANGEL Learning.
Blank "To:" line causes server error
When sending mail from within ANGEL, if using only the “Cc:” line, “Bcc:” line, or “Cc:”/“Bcc:” lines while leaving the “To:” line blank, users will get a server error. This issue has been reported to the vendor and acknowledged as a bug.
