Several known issues have been identified in ANGEL 7.2, and ANGEL administrators are working with the vendor to address them. This list of resolved issues serves to keep the community updated as we work to address some of the growing pains that come with a major system upgrade. This page was last reviewed on May 5, 2008.

Unlocking items

Automatically unlocking items in a course is working incorrectly, when set up in the same way as it was in 6.3. Resolution: The vendor has issued a problem number to this issue. In the meantime, students must exit the course to their home page, then re-enter the course. Update 8/14/2007: The vendor has assigned another problem number to this issue, and has escalated to tier III support.

$GOTO$ The $GOTO$ token is not working properly in ANGEL 7.2. Resolution: This issue has been logged with the vendor and assigned an issue number. A patch will be released in a future update. As a workaround, use the Content Manager GOTO function.  This is the function which use when adding a content link through the HTML editor.  The syntax for this function can be found on page 44 of the ANGEL 7.2 Programmer's Reference Manual. UPDATE: 8/8/2007 - This will be addressed in an August update. UPDATE: 8/16/2007 - This has been repaired. UPDATE: 8/29/2007: Seperate issues have been uncovered with GOTO functionality. ANGEL administrators are currently testing fixes. UPDATE: This issue is to be addressed in the upcoming September update package.
Unsubscribing from Discussion Forums Users currently receive a server error when attempting to unsubscribe from a discussion forum. Resolution: This issue has been logged with the vendor and assigned an issue number. A patch will be released in a future update.
ANGEL Live issues ANGEL Live components are currently not working correctly. Resolution: This has been filed with the vendor and has been escalated to development.
HTML Editor - embed tags The HTML editor is sometimes stripping embed tags, if the file was created in Firefox, but edited in Internet Explorer. Resolution: This has been reported to the vendor and assigned a problem number. Current workaround is to make needed changes in the same browser, preferably Firefox. UPDATE: 8/16/2007 - This has been repaired.
Chat logs Currently, students can only see their own contributions when reviewing a chatroom log. An enhancement was filed with the vendor, asking that this be restored to all submissions. Resolution: The vendor accepted this as an enhancement, and the fix will be implemented in the August patch. UPDATE, 8/14/2007: A fix was implemented on 8/11/2007.
Sent folder in course messaging Currently, when viewing the Sent folder in the course messaging area, the name of the sender is displayed, as opposed to the name of the recipient. Resolution: The vendor accepted this as an enhancement, and the fix will be implemented in the August patch. UPDATE, 8/14/2007: A fix was implemented on 8/11/2007.
Course message recipients Some users report an issue with not seeing all of the users enrolled in their course when viewing the To: list in the message compose screen. Resolution: This has been reported to ALI and confirmed as a bug. A patch will be released in a future update. Update, 6/19/2007: As a workaround, entering a few letters in the search box above the recipient list displays more recipient options. For example, if you see only letters A - D, try entering an E in the search box. This should return more options. If you see only D - Z, enter an A in the search box, and so on.
Guid error When accessing the chat function from the Who's Online component on the home page, or from the communicate tab, a server error appears, indicating "Guid should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes." Resolution: A case is filed with the vendor on this issue. Update, 7/16/2007 - The maintenance performed on 7/14/2007 resolved this issue.

Sending to Internet Mail

As of ANGEL 7.1, for users to receive e-mail outside of ANGEL, they must have a forwarding address set in their preferences. This report was not a bug, rather a change in functionality between ANGEL 6.3 and 7.2. Resolution: An enhancement request has been filed with the vendor to either restore old functionality, or to remove the "Send a copy to each recipient's Internet e-mail" checkbox to avoid confusion. Update 6/15/2007: This issue has been repaired, and messaging will e-mail to user's Internet e-mail as expected.

Course Messaging Update, 6/14/2007:As of the fix installed on June 12, 2007, ANGEL messages filter with the course they're being viewed from set as default. This was a highly requested feature from our user base, and the concerns have now been addressed.

New window/no banner issues When selecting to have an item open in a new window with no banner, a ? is inserted into the address, causing issues primarily with viewing videos in Internet Explorer. Course Messaging Many other complaints involve users seeing all of their messages from all courses and groups each time they enter the inbox, no matter from what course. Resolution: We have filed an enhacement request, asking that these messages be filtered by course, according to the course the user is currently in. It has been assigned a tracking number and is in the ANGEL Learning, Inc. system. Time out errors when attempting to compose messages have been repaired.

Resolution: ANGEL Administrators are working with the vendor on a permanent solution, but currently NetID updates are being done manually in the early hours of the morning, to avoid performance degradation.
Inline HTML Editor In some cases, the inline HTML editor can cause HTML code to work in unanticipated ways. For most users, using the HTML editor on a basic level, this will not be an issue. There is a bug involving the customization of pages. Some nuggets will not properly insert or remove from the page when selected. This is filed with the vendor, and options are being reviewed. This is being actively worked on, and a solution is anticipated soon. This issue is more cosmetic than problematic, but can lead to some inconvenience. Resolution: A fix has been made to an environment variable by ANGEL Administrators. Users encountering this problem should click the "Use Defaults" button, then rearrange their content as they'd like it.
